Well done to our year 5/6 tag rugby team who competed in the Central Venue League tag rugby tournament at Bishop Foxes on Tuesday 28th February. They won 3 of their 4 games: 6-2, 8-1 and 6-2. Unfortunately they just lost their last game against West Monkton 3-1 but all played really well
Well done to our netball teams who played really well again at the Central Venue League tournament today held at Taunton Vale. The A team won all their games and looked extremely strong. The B team also played very well and should feel extremely proud with their performance losing 2 closely fought games and winning their final one 2-0. Well done to all the children that played.
Girls Football Under 11's County Finals
A massive congratulations to our girls' football team (Years 4,5 & 6) who played in the County football finals on Friday 13th January 2017. The event took place at Bridgwater College Academy which the girls qualified for by finishing second in the Taunton Area finals. This was the first year that Creech has ever entered this competition and even getting through to the finals was a huge achievement in itself. The girls played superbly and battled really hard against some very tough competition. The progression that was seen in their overall performance is to be commended. Unfortunately, the girls narrowly missed out to a place in the semi-finals but should come away feeling very proud of themselves. Well done.
A huge congratulations to our girls football team who finished as runners up in the Taunton Area Finals on Monday 12th December. They played superbly as a team with great attitudes. Tilli Davidson captained the team and put on an excellent performance with some fantastic goals from herself, Lydia Greedy and Kate Barker. The girls narrowly missed out to a very experienced Wellesley Park team losing 2-1 in their final game. As runners up, they are now through to the County finals on Friday 13th January 2017.

Year 3/4 Rounders Tournament
Well done to our year 3 and 4 children who went to Castle School to play in their first rounders tournament on Thursday 11th June. They picked up the rules really quickly and all played fantastically, winning every game.
Pupils take part in a number of sporting activities both within their lessons and as extra curricular activities.
Class teachers are responsible for ensuring that children are offered a wide range of sports as outlined in the National Curriculum. P.E is mainly individual and skill based in the Early Years and builds up to group and team sports as the children develop.
We are fortunate to have a specialist sports coach who is linked with our school and teaches in many of the classes.
Years 1 and 2 take part in swimming for a term each year and during the 3rd term children from years 3-6 that need to gain more confidence have some booster sessions. Pupils travel by bus to Taunton School Pool in Taunton. A contribution is sought for this, to offset costs. PE funding is also used to subsidise costs.
A huge number of extra curricular clubs are provided to enhance our sport provision. Pupils taking part in these have the opportunity to take part in festivals, matches and tournaments against other schools.
We have a friendly but “competitive” School Games day, giving our talented pupils a chance to shine and allowing others to have fun whilst participating in lots of different sporting activities. Children are organised into houses and compete for a house cup.
All the children were really brave and had great fun during the first week of our High Ropes Club at Vivary Adventure and High Ropes Centre.

A comment from one child “It was awesome; I liked all the activities that we did. I enjoyed getting ‘Star of the Week’. My favourite part was the box tag and I also liked teaching some games.”
