Part Time: 8am – 1pm Monday to Friday (23.35 hours per week ) - Term Time Only
Somerset Pay Spine Grade 14 - £12.64 - £13.05 per hour (£24,404 - £25,183 pa pro rata)

We are looking for an approachable and forward thinking School Administrative Officer with strong interpersonal skills to join our supportive and collaborative team. Working alongside staff, children and parents you will be an ambassador for the school demonstrating a commitment and passion to our mission, ensuring every child, whatever their background, receives a high quality education.
The School Administrative Officer is responsible for supporting with the administrative, financial and organisational processes within the school. They will also act as the initial point of contact for parents, visitors and other stakeholders so will be an ambassador for the school and embody the value, vision and ethos of the school in all interactions.

We are looking to appoint a Clerk to the Board of Governors to start as soon as possible. The board, through its appointed and elected governors, plays a distinctive and essential role in the continuing success and development of the school. The clerk’s job is to work with the chair, other governors and headteacher, in dealing with administrative matters for the board and advising on procedural issues of governance and the board’s statutory duties. Central to the role is preparing for, taking notes at and producing minutes for meetings.
The post involves some evening work and the on occasions the successful candidate may need to be available at times during the day.
New clerks receive advice, support and training from the SSE-Governance Team and all clerks are encouraged to attend termly briefings in their locality to update themselves on the latest developments in governance.
We are looking for a Clerk who has:
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with administrative tasks
• Ability to write agendas and produce accurate concise minutes
• Strong IT / keyboard skills
• A calm, positive and professional demeanour
• Integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
